An Improved 3D Ultra-Wideband High-Efficiency Substrate Integrated Coaxial Meander Delay Line

This paper proposes an improved substrate integrated coaxial meander delay line to overcome the beam dispersion problem in a spaceborne synthetic aperture radar phased array antenna system with large bandwidth. The operates range of 4 GHz–10 GHz relative bandwidth 85.7%. In proposed structure, effect is generated by combination and line, which results significant improvement efficiency. Furthermore, planar turn vertical transition microstrip structure are designed realize three-dimensional tight wiring. lines fabricated on three five layered Rogers RO3006 PCB substrate. experimental tests conducted 3.1 ns 6.4 dimensions 38 mm × 7 0.5 37 9.2 1 mm, respectively. indicate that insertion return losses two within reasonable range. Compared related research, lines’ time, multiplier, 2.13–160 times, 1.025–6.8 2.14–3.86 respectively, shows their good practical value application prospect.
